Why do Best In Class Shippers WANT to use Technology, but Don’t?

SMARTSHIPPERSWorld trade is growing at 5.3% annually and the transportation process is getting more complex. This complexity adds parties to the logistics process and can make transportation costs more difficult to handle. According to a study conducted by Peerless Research Group, one quarter of all domestic shipments are multi-leg and multi-modal – making meeting customer service agreements more difficult. Of the same group surveyed in this study, half said their spend on domestic transportation will increase beyond 2015.

Smart shippers are turning in their spreadsheets and email-based communication tools for a web-based single platform TMS that can handle all their transportation needs – including multi-leg and multi-modal shipments. Even in the highly automated LTL market, nearly 35% of shippers are manually managing these or allowing carriers to manage them. These shippers are losing out on cost savings and efficiencies.

Nearly half (45%) of shippers surveyed want to automate and integrate transportation management processes. Though this automation is clearly slow to be adopted: one quarter of shipping companies do not use technology to optimize or automate route planning or load tender requests.

Supply Vision offers shippers a web-based single platform to execute multi-modal shipments with a robust reporting suite giving management access to the data needed to prove savings and value. The combination of TMS, Dispatch, WMS and a Customer Portal is key to keeping ever-increasing shipping costs to a minimum. With a dedicated team of logistics technology professionals committed to incorporating new features and supporting shippers with best in class support, Supply Vision is the choice of smart shippers everywhere.
